With live search you turn the "External property number" (objektnr_extern) field for properties β or the "Customer number" (KdNr) field for addresses β into a search field with suggestions: as the user types, the form suggests matching records from onOffice β one click inserts the number into the field or loads the entire record straight away.
A typical case: you use the duplicate check on "External property number" in a form and only allow existing property numbers (see form settings). Previously the user had to know or look up the exact property number β typos only surfaced after submitting. With live search they find the right property right while typing. The same applies to the customer number for addresses.
1. Insert the number only (default). Clicking a suggestion places the external property number or customer number into the field. Ideal together with the duplicate check: on submit, the matching record is updated.
2. Prefill the entire record. If you additionally tick "β¦ load into the form", the form is prefilled with all data of the selected property or address after the selection.
Requirement: This needs prefill from onOffice to be enabled on the form. If it is not active, only the number is inserted.
Each suggestion shows the key details so the right record is easy to spot.
If you have set a property or address filter on the form, live search only searches the records within that filter. This lets you deliberately narrow down the searchable pool.
The suggestions are visible to every visitor of the form β including owner and personal names. Therefore only use live search in internal forms (e.g. for staff), not in publicly advertised forms. A form filter lets you narrow down the searchable pool further.
